Cost Effectiveness

IHO’s programs are among the most cost-effective global health programs  in the world.  This is because we ‘triple leverage’ our resources:

  • At least one-third of IHO’s work force is volunteers, thus saving one-third of the overall cost of the projects.
  • Another one-third of our resources are contributed to us ‘in kind’ by various sources (medicines, vaccines, health aids, educational materials, transportation, rental, building, etc), thus further reducing the cost of our projects.
  • Finally, IHO works primarily by collaborating with partner organizations where the resources of the partner are utilized which further reduces our program expense.

At the end of the day, only 25% to 35% of the costs of our programs are directly funded through ‘cash’!  Through our own research, we have found that IHO’s programs are at least 65%-75% more cost effective than comparable programs.
